Pooky’s Weekly Round-Up: Issue 104
Support for autistic students, anxious kids and overwhelmed brains
Between hills in Dorset and tabs open in my brain, this week’s resources are all about finding your footing.
I’ve been thinking a lot about transitions, overwhelm, and the small steps that help us move forward—whether that’s preparing an autistic child for secondary school or finally opening the document you’ve been avoiding all day…

WATCH: Why Executive Dysfunction Isn’t Just ‘Being Lazy’
In my first new YouTube video in a long while, I dig into executive dysfunction—what it is, how it shows up, and what actually helps. If you’ve ever stared at a task knowing exactly what to do but feeling totally stuck, this one’s for you.
It feels good to be back—if there’s a topic you’d love me to tackle next, I’m all ears.

READ: The Worry Workbook
An engaging activity book designed for children aged 8 to 12, The Worry Workbook offers creative exercises to help young ones understand and manage their worries. Through interactive activities like crafting a 'worry camera' or coloring a mood tracker, it empowers children to confront their anxieties in a fun and accessible way. A valuable tool for parents and educators aiming to support children's mental well-being.
SMILE: Damp in Dorset
What started as a sunny seaside ride (with ice cream, obviously) turned into a soggy, hill-filled expedition. We were in the area picking up our new full-suspension mountain bike tandem—but took one of the existing tandems for a spin first. It was steep. It was wet. It was brilliant. Character officially built.
